As the Eyes Open to Holocaust History

It is urgent to study and discuss that which you are forbidden to study and discuss. Now as we are close to reliving what was to be “never again," lives may depend on having this knowledge.

Parallels from the 1930’s to our time

A Holocaust survivor, Vera Sharav, has produced a five-part documentary Never Again Is Now Global, which I cannot recommend highly enough.  If you don’t know of Sharav’s work, you may find her name commonly known in the near future.

Did you know the Nazi concentration camps existed as early as 1933?  That was in Dachau.  Did you know that the Nazis had concentration camps not only in Dachau, Auschwitz and Buchenwald, that we are aware of in the brief summary of history that we now study of that time, but there were actually 42,000 such camps run by the Nazis all over Germany and surrounding countries?  Twelve years and 42,000 concentration camps.

Enormous, unfathomable human suffering and long decades past.  So for its massive horrible extent, tthe Holocaust of 80 years ago left few eyewitnesses alive today. 

The knowledge and acquired wisdom of the survivors from that time to the present, and their lifetimes of observing predatory strategies and tactics of governments around the world, are lessons that compel us all to open the eyes and ears and mind to consider.

Some highlights from Part I:

Vera Sharav was born in Romania, and at age 4 was sent with her family to a concentration camp, where they were left to starve and where her father died.  Still a child, when Sharav was ordered by the Nazis to get on a boat designated for orphan children, she remembers crying and throwing a tantrum and refusing to get on the boat, “wouldn’t budge.”  So the boat left the dock without her, and she remained behind sitting on her valise, later taken in by a local family. 

The next day the news was that the Nazis had torpedoed the boat.  Not a single child survived. 

From Vera Sharav: Never Again Is Now Global, Part I

Recalling the event now, she says, “And I thought, I was right.  I was right not to obey.  And that’s a lesson that made me who I am.  In the back of my mind, I know if I don’t trust something, if I don’t want to do something, I don’t.  You can’t argue with your own experience, and I wish people now would draw on their own experience and intuition, and not listen to authorities.”

Lifesaving medications were denied to doctors and patients by governments

The late Dr. Zev Zelenko, a New York physician, was suspicious from the beginning of COVID:

“ . . . All of a sudden Governor Cuomo decided that the prescription of hydroxychloroquine, for patients with COVID-19, in the outpatient setting, was to be prohibited.  Now this is a drug, FDA approved, that has been around 65 years and has been used over a billion times.  That was the beginning of my recognition of absolute medical tyranny and evil.   And just keep in mind that my patients were dying.  I came up with an approach.  They stopped dying.  Then there was a government decree that put a barrier between me and my patient, you know the doctor-patient relationship, which used to be sacred.  The patients couldn’t get any more medication, and they started dying again. . . . My data showed an 84% decrease in COVID hospitalization and death, and subsequently that data has been corroborated by dozens of peer-reviewed papers. . . . To give you a sense of scale of what we’re talking about, out of 900,000 dead Americans, we could have prevented 760,000 from going to the hospital.” --  Vladimir Zelenko, MD

Fascism’s interventions in the practice of medicine

Rabbi Michoel Green first started noticing a disturbing trend in June of 2019, when New York State eliminated religious exemption to vaccines.  California also, as well as Maine.  He says, “I saw that as a violation of individual’s human rights and bodily autonomy. . . .   I saw COVID policies as a repeat from the pages of history that we never learned the lessons from.”

And now the documentary takes on even more importance and personal interest for me.  The next to speak is none other than Hervé Seligmann, a second generation Holocaust survivor, and widely published Professor of Infectious Diseases at Aix-Marseilles University.  He was the earliest, to my knowledge, to provide a mortality estimate from the just-released COVID vaccines.   That was February 18, 2021.   One of several reasons that I will never forget this fact is that I was permanently suspended from Twitter the next day for providing a true, accurate and verifiable quote from Prof Seligmann on that topic, which may still be found here on Israel National News, a mainstream news source, and it was, and I was, censored by the old Twitter.

Is ignorance really bliss?

“Everyone thinks it can’t be the same, because there are no gas chambers.  So first, that’s wrong because these injections are a time bomb gas chamber.  And that is what they don’t understand.  And the second point is you don’t wait until then.  Then it’s too late.  You have to warn people before.”  -- Hervé Seligmann.

Well, we tried, and to some extent we succeeded.  Many took heed when we gave the warning, to our patients, our families, loved ones, acquaintances.  Many others had started to research for themselves the history of failed attempts to vaccinate against coronavirus, history of governments’ fierce mandates of vaccines, and many remained skeptical.  In the US an estimated 30% of us have been able to avoid the COVID vaccines.  Many others wanted them, and many others, very sadly, felt coerced by their jobs and social circumstances.

Ignorance may be painless in the short term, but can be lethal in the long term.  Or is it that people have such a distaste for unpleasant things, such as Holocaust history, that they even risk the torture and death of repeating the history that they refuse to learn from?

From only the first half of Part 1 of Never Again Is Now Global come these essential pearls of costly wisdom – costly in terms of human suffering and lost lives.   And it comes to us, in this medium, in this documentary, through oral history, which is the oldest mechanism that humans have of teaching each other how to do better in the future.  Oral telling of events is an essential part of human cultures worldwide for the great majority of human history.  

Let’s now listen and watch and study what actually happened during the Holocaust, so that we may, hopefully, avert such a catastrophe in our own time.
