Rediscovery of Low-Oxygen Mask Injury
Now thousands of studies show what my research team (epidemiologist, naturopathic physician, microbiologist) showed in 2020-2021 on the hazards of mask-wearing, and were censored for doing so.
My long-time readers know that my research team, in late 2020 and early 2021, compiled the largest body of clinical evidence, up to that time, of the harms of mask wearing. But those harms keep getting re-discovered somehow, brand new all over again to incredulous audiences of academics – after worldwide injuries to children and adults. The difference is we alerted the public, or tried to in November 2020, early enough that could have prevented much of the damage that later occurred from a global masking zeitgeist.
But we only cited 200+ studies over five different articles in Primary Doctor Medical Journal, including this one:
The most recent big study is much larger than ours, I must admit. It reviews 2,168 studies and finds lower oxygen and higher carbon dioxide in the blood, with deleterious effects on heart rate, blood pressure and metabolism, with consequences including shortness of breath / air hunger and dizziness, as well as other signs and symptoms. These effects occurred within the first 18 minutes (median time) of wear.
K Kisielinski, O Hirsch, et al. Physio-metabolic and clinical consequences of wearing face masks – Systematic review with meta-analysis and comprehensive evaluation. Apr 5 2023. Frontiers Public Health.
The authors conclude:
“Discussion: Masks interfered with O2-uptake and CO2-release and compromised respiratory compensation. Though evaluated wearing durations are shorter than daily/prolonged use, outcomes independently validate mask-induced exhaustion-syndrome (MIES) and down-stream physio-metabolic disfunctions. MIES can have long-term clinical consequences, especially for vulnerable groups. So far, several mask related symptoms may have been misinterpreted as long COVID-19 symptoms. In any case, the possible MIES contrasts with the WHO definition of health.”
What is especially unfortunate for children and adults who could have benefitted from warnings against mask-wearing in 2020 is that all of the major social media platforms relentlessly censored criticisms of mask-wearing, no matter how strongly those criticisms were backed by clinical and lab data in the medical literature. This comprehensive Kisielinski review now exposes the damages observed in the last few years that have resulted, at least in part, from that censorship.
Thank you. And not to diss your work - which was early and much appreciated - honestly this should be obvious, right? I couldn't wear masks, would not, and I was astounded that humans didn't just know, that breathing in their own exhaust is not good for health. (Aside from the idiocy of how particles easily flow through.) I still see people wearing them.!
Still, nice to see more studies confirming.
Thank you Dr. Huber. I would assume some of these harmful effects are long-term not just short term
