As so many US citizens, I have late family members who risked their lives to fight against fascism in World War II. It is our duty to not only honor their courage of that time, but also to stay true, now in the 21st century, to the values they bravely defended.
The United States Constitution is crucial to the quality of our lives, our culture and our country. The US Constitution guarantees freedoms, the separation of powers, and limits on powers, which safeguard against tyranny. That venerated document is the best way humans have ever figured out to enable a fair and thriving society among free people. Aspiring tyrants have rebelled against this irrevocable contract now and then over its quarter millennium history, but we voters have reined in those rogues at other times, and we must do so again today.
When Brown University economist Emily Oster recently sought amnesty for covid tyrants and their arrogant sycophants, blazing outrage ripped through social media. Many excoriated Oster for her proposal that the widespread injuries, deaths, slow suffocation of children, economic devastation, job losses and bankrupcies of the covid era be glossed over as forgivable mistakes. As if covid mania were all a mere entertaining historical anomaly for the ivory tower to ponder and hadn't devastated real people. As if felonies had not been committed. As if the Constitution had not been violated.
Oster's proposal was not well received. There is a widespread and growing insistence that those who so imperiously damaged people's lives be brought to justice. In today's election, US voters have the first opportunity to deliver a referendum on the entirety of covidmania: lockdown policies, interruptions to education, the destruction of small businesses and people's livelihoods, forced injections and violation of the most basic of human rights: to breathe freely, a right that was, and still is in some backwaters, stifled by the disgraceful mask "mandates."
To the Democrats' growing regret, they own all of the above and will be associated with these crimes and idiocies for many years.
Two other important abuses by the Democrats are their de facto racism and sexism.
Democrats celebrated four extravagant funerals for George Floyd, while forbidding all other families from honoring their own lost loved ones. While that one person was beatified by the Democrats, their lockdown policies bankrupted 41% of black-owned small businesses in the US in 2020. Many such businesses were multi-generational, well-cultivated lifesprings for extended families, but too many had the misfortune of being located in mostly Democrat-run cities. This tremendous loss is arguably the largest single tragedy in the covid era, yet Democrats never discuss it. One remaining Democrat does discuss it: Robert F Kennedy Jr in his book The Real Anthony Fauci.
Democrats' attempts to erase Native American culture and history should also not be forgotten.
The Cleveland Indians had been so named to honor the first Native American professional baseball player Louis Sockalexis, but Dems forced a name change last year to the Cleveland Guardians, a name that reflects their authoritarian impulses. The Atlanta Braves honor a different Native American nation or tribe each week, interviewing representatives at each of their televised games. Yet the Democrats are eager to erase this too, and pressure the Braves to also change their name.
But perhaps the Democrats' most ambitious project to date is their attempted erasure of women. The pretense that men who dress as caricatures of women and perform falsetto speech could be called women is the most egregious form of gaslighting. It is the disgraceful minstrel show of our era, enabled by elites who claim not to know what a woman is. Not one more women's sporting event should be ruined by male participation. Trans events would be fine and tolerated by all; just quit sandbagging women's sports.
And if that sexism and racism weren't bad enough, the Democrats' behavior toward white men is absolutely disgusting. Their insidious hints to white boys and men that they should be ashamed of the circumstances of their birth is nearly the last straw.
But the absolute last straw is that white people are urged to confess to a racism that we don't have. Sorry, Dems, but we were raised right in a culture profoundly influenced by the late Rev Martin Luther King Jr, and we are ready to judge "not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." That quote was the single most influential and formative quote of my youth, as it is for many US citizens, and it educated us that racism is unequivocally wrong. Have the Dems really expected us to forget that?
At the polls today, the people's judgment on the content of their character will be a resounding referendum on Democrats' revelations of their authoritarianism in the covid era.
The Democrats are the party of death. Kill the unborn and euthanize the old. Life expectancy has dropped almost 2 full years in the US since the Democrats took full control in 2021. ALL from their policies.
Open border = fentanyl deaths. Covid vax mandates = myocarditis, embolisms, sudden death, cancer.
Lockdowns = deaths of despair (alcholism, drugs, suicide).
Excellent, well said.
I wish I was American so I could vote against the Demented Democrats, however don't expect the republicans to improve much. They're all bought and paid for
